Winter Patterns

Soft pastel on Pastelmat. This south-looking view is above the Connecticut River in SW New Hampshire, and I've seen it under countless weather conditions. This February morning the sun was still low, the tones grayed. The snow was not very deep. I found the mix of patterns from cut stubble, snowmobile tracks, reeds, and trees delightful and well suited to pastel work.
