Monolith
Pastels with India Ink and impasto
artist comments
The coast of Sardinia is a wondrous world of jeweled water and rocks that speak!
Here is a poem that sprung from my all too brief encounter there on a quiet June day.
Monolith
A face like flint
set with storm stories long sunk.
Each wave a nudge.
Smooth times sheared away now
Upright in imperfection
Stability the stone
Not static, enduring, mutable..
Light and darkness, valleys away, plateaus in the distance.
The water of today calms and stirs.
