Fallen Angel
I moved to Newport, Rhode Island in January 2024, three days after my 26th birthday. This move was not the first fresh start I’ve had in my life, and most likely not the last. To pass the time during my first New England winter, I chose Sachuest Beach as the place I would go to everyday. Each day I would walk - rain or shine. Alone or parallel to the other winter residents, beach-combers, dogs, birds, surfers. After a while I would find great excitement in how different the beach looked each day and all that would wash up on the sand, to then be gone by morning. This bird was something I found during a day at Sachuest where I was thinking about how beautiful, ever changing, and unforgiving nature is. As an artist, I see a fallen angel washed up on the beach and feel immense gratitude for being able to walk this earth during the time I have been awarded.
