I enjoy using soft pastel on Pastelmat. I aim to capture the subtle lights, reflections and hidden hues on my subjects. This was a study with live model in the studio. The lighting and model's outfit created a dramatic mood. His facial feature looked very disctinct in this setting. I'm dipicting the mood I saw at the scene with this portrait painting.
