Painted with soft pastel in mid-November, this is a Korean gate in Meadowlark Botanical Garden, of northern Virginia. I had just flown back from a balmy Yokohama, Japan, where roses were still blooming into the cold crisp air of the empty park, Despite the lack of flowers the garden was so peaceful that I wanted to capture the moment.
