The red letter

"A widow's retribution that tastes like silverware and wine."

This painting is a 12x16 soft pastel painting done on Lacarte paper.

The goal was to use only my red pastels from Girault, but later I added some dark shades from Terry Ludwig to add depth with purples.

A gothic and vampiric still life was born in my mind, inspired by a character I portray in a role-playing game. The red letter being the start of her story.

I had a lot of fun (and a good learning curve) creating the still life with real roses, carnations, and pomegranates.
